Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico
Puerto Escondido translates in English to "hidden port". And it fits.
Puerto was established more than a hundered years ago as a fishing village with a small port mainly used for coffee. It later became a popular destination when Federal Highway 200 was built along the Pacific coast in the 1960's. And has become quite the thriving beach town ever since, drawing tourists in for the beautiful beaches and championship surfing.
And our properties are part of this thriving town, located on the corner of Calle Las Palmas and Calle Jacarandas, and a quick 2 minute walk to the sand or 5 minutes to shopping, restaurants and night life. Each Villa offers stunning views of the Mexican Pipeline, Playa Zicatela.
Playa Zicatela is the main beach of Puerto Escondido. It is separated from the other beaches by a rocky outcropping known as "El Morro". This world class surfing beach is 40-50 meters wide with large waves that reach up to 6 meters (35 feet). The Mexican Pipeline is one of the most famous and powerful beach break barrels in the world. And though there are waves year round, the summer months (April-October) provide substantially larger swells. Surfers want to be here, and if you're not surfing, the daily show of surfing should not be missed.
